Querrey This - Sam Loses Again

While Milos Raonic is battling his way up the tennis rankings and performing at an all time best, the opposite is happening to Sam Querrey. If Raonic is climbing to the top, Sam just fell off the side.

Querrey is under performing at an incredible rate so far this year. He's 2-6 and not exactly losing to household names. At the moment his losses include Lukas Lacko, Lukasz Kubot, Ryan Sweeting, an up and comer in Alexandr Dolgopolov and a respectable Mardy Fish. Sam is supposed to be our (the US's) #2 but the problem is he can't beat any of his fellow Americans or anyone from former Soviet Union countries apparently.

And it will only get harder in the upcoming months. Once clay court season hits, he'll more or less be a non factor until the US hard court season. It might be until July when we start noticing him again and the worst part is I don't think he actually cares. Besides his match in Australia (which was in the first round), his losses have been with little fight. Straight set beat downs for our 6'6" future of tennis is not exactly a comforting feeling and I'd at least like to see him blow up or hang in there in an epic battle like what we've seen from John Isner.

No, no we haven't gotten that from Querrey yet this year and it's starting to worry me a little bit. If he doesn't turn it up a notch and soon, he may just eventually find himself go the way of the practically extinct Donald Young. Okay, that's a little harsh, but until Sam shows me some grit, I will be eating Tim Horton's, waving my maple leaf flag and rooting for my man Milos, eh?
